Jakub Nalepa

Head of AI, KP Labs Assistant Professor, Silesian University of Technology

Jakub Nalepa received his MSc (2011) and PhD (2016) in Computer Science (both with distinction) from Silesian University of Technology (SUT), Gliwice, Poland. He is currently Head of AI at KP Labs, a NewSpace company from Gliwice, Poland, and Assistant Professor at SUT. Jakub has been instrumental in defining the scientific AI objectives of KP Labs. His research interests focus on machine (deep) learning, signal processing and analysis, and remote sensing. So far, he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences (see the full list at: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=kt6EnKcAAAAJ&hl=en). He has been awarded the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society 2020 Interactive Session Prize Paper Award at IEEE IGARSS 2020, the Witold Lipski’s Prize (2017), and the POLITYKA Science Award (2020). He is an active reviewer in 80+ journals.
